It is Wednesday today about half
way through a school holiday in late May and we all know what that means, yes
the weather has taken a turn for the worse. It is strange because statistically
I have now worked out that school holidays are mainly wet regardless of the
time of year. It is possible to work out the probability using hot buttered
slices of toast dropped onto the floor as the hypothetical average of the
chances of rain.
If you then use a large steam
catapult to fire small school children into random passing clouds at a fixed
regular interval, by taking note of the state of them as they return to the
ground it is possible to see that in most cases they are cold wet and suffering
from shock, a clear sign they have passed though a thunder storm. Hot buttered
toast never suffers from shock and sixty three percent of it lands happily
butter side up allowing me to eat two thirds of all the toast (OK a few slices
have a bit of fluff on but that’s fine). In contrast to only five percent of
children who on landing will eat a slice of hot buttered toast. Eighty one
percent of them will go and lie down, face down with there head hiding under
the pillow and say get him away from me
Mummy, I don’t like the clouds a clear sign that for reasons unknown to
man as yet I really should be allowed to have my holidays outside the normal
holidays. And if you do have children ensure you leave them in school when you
go on holiday, I think you will find you are much happier (with the improved
weather).
I spent a
little more time sorting the garage today it is rather full as it was the
overflow for stuff when we moved here 18 months ago or so. The garage at the
time was the overflow and folk would look at things and say Ooooooooo I don’t know where that is going? ?
? . . . . stick it in the garage, it is a common moving house problem,
and seventy two percent of houses have boxes of prized items in garages,
cellars and attics doomed to a life in a box as a result of a house move. Did you know that even in the bank vaults of
the world there are items worth millions that have been stashed away by people
moving and they will never see them again.
Oooooooo yes
Harry the Cat is wagging his tale at God.
Yes we always find the weather and school holidays go well together, always raining.
ReplyDeletePleased the cat is feeling better.
Yvonne.
I quite agree I think the solution is too ban all school holidays, its tough but for the greater good.
DeleteThe cat is getting better by the day.
I bet if children who are catapulted into the sky without clouds they wiLL likely return to earth wetter on the outside and drier (emptier?) on the inside at least 63 per cent if headed east and 62 at best if headed west, and yeLLing louder from the mouth if headed south and I can't find a word worth using that rhymes with north. Oh, worth and north, ok, I accidentaLLy did find one.
ReplyDeleteI forgot to teLL you that you have good gif-abilities.
DeleteYou were right about North because here in Britain WORTH is pronounced WERTH as it Earth. so they could only use the word just before hitting the ground (a pre ground sound)
DeleteI hope that makes sense Mr ESB I fear is does not.
tHAT gif WAS DONE (hANG oN THE cAPS lOCK IS ON) . . . . ages ago, several years ago when I had another master plan. I may be on master plan 8 or 9 by now.
Absolute sense makes yes.
DeleteI must be eggZactly half your age or some form of achievement because I am on master plan 4.25 .... I did a few gifs a long time ago and did some stop action animation, mainly capturing orchid blooms opening. I would do a few cool things like pan the camera in an arc slowly, and shoot with two cameras and mix the feeds onto a single final frame. I have not done that in a few months. Oh, I also shot water evaporating on orchid leaves as the sunlight was fading. I did a gif of 9 months (weekly data) of the flu intensity of the states of the US, color intensity equals flu intensity, maps from the Center for Disease Control. Fun fun fun ... Oh, I remember doing the flu thing while on vacation in Santa Rosa NM. I wiLL have to think of something strange GIFable for my upcoming trip to Albuquerque.
I think that you may be on master plan 4.25 because I have no staying power and think Ooooo that did not work . . . . . .. . Next.
DeleteI suspect I may not be a full twice as old, just sort of old.
Is that Flu as in chimney or Flu as in , I dont feel well Mr ESB.
I don't feel well - and that is true for me at the moment. But I managed to go shopping and deliver gumbo to the diner owner. Just a lower sporadic back attack.
DeleteIf I used a large steam catapult to fire small school children into random passing clouds, I would be up on charges of aggravated assault...again.
ReplyDeleteHarry the cat, has the same look on his face that my cats did, when I used to try and palm them off with Tesco's on brand, instead of the more expensive 'Kitekat'
Love the gif. :)
That GIF was done a few years ago, which just goes to show I am still not improving at drawing much.
DeleteHarry the Cat insists on Filix, but not in tins.
You are right about the small children in clouds but I have a great solicitor, although he is expensive.
Oooooo Sun outside.
I love the idea of canceling school holidays! :) Unfortunately, lately the weather around here has been utterly unpredictable and school is out for the summer. Just finished a hail storm about an hour ago, now the sun is shining. Go figure.
ReplyDeleteDropping by on the A to Z road trip. Fun blog!

thanks for passing and commenting always pleased to see a new person as they wander the many ways of cyberspace and all its hidden treasures.
DeleteThe weather is not as stable as it was in the good old days that's for sure, we also can get every season before lunch.
