Painting Walls and Watching Lightning (or was it the other way round)

So what did I do today, I painted a bit and pondered a bit and turned all our computers on and off a lot due to the passing rumbling of thunder. Thunder in itself is not an issue but the lighting is; the computers here are old and a bit battered and a bolt of lightning would not do them any good whatsoever.   It is interesting that lightning is so damn noisy, why does that happen, sure there is a lot of electricity, but electricity is not normally noisy unless it is attached to say a large PA system a couple of miles away in the Castle of the Bishop. As is the case tonight meaning as the wind drifts in our direction so the distorted sounds of music float across the hill and through the trees. Interestingly these sounds can counteract each other and if the electricity of the lightning and the electricity of the loud PA system were to meet the result would be silence, possibly after a bit of a bang and a bit of a scream.

I have also loosened the screws on a door and have done a small plastering repair job, it is good to do these little things, in fact I think when I look at the bigger picture of the world at present it is clear that the one thing I have control of (OK maybe not total control of) is what colour the walls are.  The world is a bittersweet place at present and there is a lot of anger, hate, war and sadness and I am lucky that I can change the colour of our walls and outwit Zombies, Aliens and Pirates in the woods.  I wish you all well and hope you also get to paint the walls the colours you like.

Please note the British spelling of colour not that odd American one.

President Obama, Prime Minister Cameron, President Putin, The G8 summit (2013), Bovril, Kendal Mint Cake and Grizzly Bears.

Yesterday I happened to suggest that it was no coincidence that President Putin of Russia had turned up only days after my original President Putin picture had been shown in my diary in cyberspace. And many of you have said things like Run for the hills or Hide in the Patagonian Embassy for a few weeks till it is safe or Rob Who? never heard of him, he is no friend of ours. Now I know he has to pop over to Ireland to join fellow world leaders for the G8 summit to discuss important issues, which as it happens the leaders all have different views about. So some sort of botched statement will be put together to make it all sound like it was a useful meeting and worth every penny of the X million pounds it cost.

I think it all goes wrong because they call it a summit when it is plainly held in a posh hotel on the flat with no mountains anywhere near. Lets face it food is always much better on the flat rather than the top of a mountain where it tends to be bully beef, Kendal Mint Cake, and hot Bovril, not the food of world leaders, OK President Putin is the only one who might be up for it, climbing fearless up into the unknown chewing his bully beef and laughing in the face of Grizzly Bears.

OK yes where was I (again), President Putin and my picture, now what I would like to know and it is important; exactly where has he got to today because he seems to have vanished. There is talk in the local village of a huge bullet proof car sitting in a lay-by with a group of suspicious men in wearing dark designer sunglasses and drinking Vodka and feeding Caviar to the ducks in the duck pond.

I did notice in the news while I scanned for news for you know who that President Obama of the USA and Prime Minister Cameron of Britain have announced a multi-billion pound trade deal to sell each other loads of stuff. So America will make loads of stuff and sell it to us and we will make loads of stuff and sell it to them and everyone will be happy. Sorry call me stupid but most countries I thought were in debt and all the folk in the countries feeling the cold mountain winds and the smell of Bovril mixed with the far away singing of a Russian fighting Grizzly bears. . . . . . .  Who has all this money to buy all this stuff that we don’t need. Ooooooooo sorry I have gat all political again that’s not good for a witty block buster movie about an eccentric and sadly I now have no time to tell you what I did today as I need to go and make a cardboard Dragonfly, (part of a trade deal worth absolutely nothing).

The Constant of Normality . . . . . . . and the BIG EVENT

The year appears to  have already settled down into a routine very similar to that of most years. The days are going to slowly but surely draw out, a result of daylight still permeating the atmosphere for longer periods of time.  The news appears to continue in a way that is very similar to the way the news normally continues, and most folk continue to make the journeys to and from places that they normally journey between.  This huge constant of normality to which the human race work too has taken the human race three days to re-establish after the New Year festivities. If this was a John Wayne film round about now someone would be turning round to Big John and saying its too quiet, I have an uneasy feeling about all this. And who could blame them because there is no denying that the world must be almost due something of a global nature to take our minds off things of less importance such as is it possible to walk down the high street backwards and not stand on the cracks in the paving. I say less important but it might just be that such a skill after the Big Event may be of critical importance, so I might practice again tomorrow.  Of course the one thing we do know; is that the BIG EVENT will not be the End of the World, so I will leave all of you to suggest interesting alternative options of a global event (The BIG EVENT) that might occur during 2013…..

In other news we took a trip to the DIY store in Shrewsbury to get tongue and groove panelling so that I can continue my excellent job, yes it appears I am doing such a good job I am being allowed to finish it.  . . . . . . . . AH . . . .DAMN.  So this afternoon I continued the task for a while and it is coming along, although I have a feeling I have not yet reached the hard bit.

I have also noticed that cyberspace has become remarkable quiet, I suspect folk may have all run away for various reasons and are hiding somewhere else in cyberspace, having a party because they said on the news that people in the UK now spent huge amounts of money on downloaded music and games. This is a worry as I do neither but I do write more than most, the dog says people don’t like words they like a man with a machine gun running about in a maze who looks a bit grumpy chasing mutants (that’s the man not the maze)….. Still the Ghost Writer is grumpy so all I need to do is get him to run about, although it will only be with a water pistol but it has the same effect on a cat as a machine gun does on a mutant (OK sort of a bit).

OK I am off now to drink a mug of cocoa and eat toast and ponder the arrival of certain global things know to some (me) as The BIG EVENT, not the End of the World. . . . . .

Ooooooo I have just noticed I have a very manky keyboard, full of wildlife and stuff……

I do like this music VERY COOL

By the Way this is post number 700 on this Blog.....
I am slowly getting to the one million words
