Mexican Waves and Mexican Dave

Today has been rather quiet I looked at a few things and prodded a few things talked to a few people pointed at something that needed to be pointed at and in general looked at things in a knowing way as if I knew what was going on, which I didn't. I did notice a man in a large truck flash his lights at me as I made my way to the school and can only assume it was Mexican Dave, I always try to wave back to Mexican Dave but he is always in different trucks so by the time I think AH YES it's Mexican Dave he has flashed all the truck lights at me, waved and shot past me in the opposite direction, so I end up waving to strange people who don’t know who I am but think they might know me so wave back. But because I have almost passed them at this point they end up waving to someone behind me who tries to wave back to them and so on and so on. You can see now why Mexican Dave is called Mexican Dave because hours after he has finished work people are still waving at one an other somewhere out on the road. Still it is better than everyone waving fists at each other which is what happens in large towns particularly when dad takes short cuts up one way streets sort of the wrong way. Although he would argue that because he is in reverse it does not count and it takes skill to reverse at fifty miles an hour. ......

So I have arrived at the same point as yesterday when I ran out of things to say, well at least until it gets sunny and warm. The sun came out at one point for a whole hour or there abouts, which was lovely and it must be at least a week since I saw it properly but we are at least reaching the point in the year where it will change and summer will arrive and we will lie in deckchairs and on sun loungers and get soaking wet in the rain HAH HAH HAHH HAH hah ahah ahh hah hah ahaha hahahah hah ahaha hahh . . . . . . . . . . .AH mum has just said IDIOT.

  1. Mexican Dave sounds like my kind of guy. Has he started a Mexican Craze of Mexican Waves? Perhaps he could start a Mexican Rave until he ends up in his Mexican Grave.

    ...I'll stop now.

    1. Well it must be said we should all wave at Mexican Dave.

However we should also remember the famous Mexican Cat Dance

  2. I already like this blog post before I even read it from a poetic symmetry basis of the title. Its Wednesday, I aLLow my judgement to be clouded by such factors on Wednesdays. Why? you may ask, and I would say Y, yes, Wednesday happens to be a day that ends in Y. And you might ask, what days don't end in Y? And I would think and say 'sundae'. I also noticed that Sunday and Monday end with nday, and Tuesday through Thursday are aLL sday's. friday ends with an iday so it is in terrible danger of being swaLLowed up by Apple as iDay.

    1. There is an old saying Mr ESB 'It's all in a days Work' and another one that goes 'An apple a day keeps the doctor away' which I assume means that imac users are healthier than microsoft users.

I must go and drink tea now and sit by an open fire to remain warm.

    2. I am thinking and I could most definitely be wrong, but if you are having trouble with what is 'going on', perhaps you could switch tactics to what is 'going off'. It might even be more interesting. A light switch is about the same level of -boring- either going on or going off, but other things such as TNT are probably more eXciting in the off department. I personaLLy stay away from high explosives. Taking off on adventures is something you seem to be good at as weLL. I just noticed how sneak the word on is - it arrogantly just had to put itself right after the off in the previous sentence, how rude.

    5. I was luck today as I discovered the Pope heading off which means that things will be going on at the Vatican in a sort of off, on situation which will be resolved with smoke.

I wish you well with the job I am sure you will get it because you are rather clever. If it means we will see less of you then so be it but we will all still be here in the world of cyberspace. I am assuming that you have not applied to be Pope

  3. It must one of those laws of nature that states that everybody knows someone called Dave.

I knew a Dave once who was the scourge of humanity.

A hateful figure of pure awfulness, who wore a man bag and claimed to have played in the band inspiral carpets even he would only have been 13 at the time.

For that and many other reasons I have a natural aversion to Daves.

The Phrase "I hate Dave" is a mantra onboard the SinkingShip.

    1. Hahaha! Mr H, 'I hate Dave' is indeed my daily mantra but it's always preceded with an 'ooh' as in, "ooh, I hate Dave".

Rob Z, I'm not sure if it's all the drugs I'm currently taking (prescription ones of course)but the vision of a street full of strangers all waving at each other, under the misguided belief that they might know each other, had me in fits of giggles...or is that a giggle of fits? Anyway, I thought it was funny. :)

    2. Just as well Mexican Dave does not read my blog he would be all paranoid now. But I think what we need to think about is, if you look at a name globally and them consider the personality of all the people with that name; the overall composite personality should be neutral so for every rotten Dave there must be a nice one. However if the balance is such that more Dave's are rotten than nice, the few nice ones there are have to wave and smile at everyone to correct the overall balance. Maybe Dave has to wave at everyone because he is genetically programmed to do so and if he had been called Harry he might not wave as much.

Mr H .... the Dave you know probably laid carpets for a living and has jazzed it up a bit.

And Miss Lily I am glad you are giggling maybe it would help if I could supply all my readers with your present medication. Surprisingly enough it is not uncommon for folk to wave at each other in the country without having the remotest clue who they are waving at. I have found myself doing this a lot but part of that is having rubbish eye sight thinking I'm sure I know them, better wave a lot. It is OK until they start talking to you and you don't know who they are and have to pretend you are old mates, (even worse if you are old mates and you still don't know who they are).

    4. I have bookmarked the blog in question, as it is now 6:20am and I haven't not yet slept...which has now be made redundant by the fact that it is 6:20 am and I have to get the Lil man up for school at 6:30am.

I did however, read a couple of posts which made me laugh out loud. If you and Mad Aunt Bernard were to write a post together, then I fear that the interweb would explode. :)
