I chopped some logs today and drilled a
hole in a wall and found some cables for the digital studio in order to help
multi-track my drumming, I found the cables while looking for something else in
connection with the hole in the wall. I
had put the item I could not find in a safe place last time I found it knowing
that I would soon be needing it, but I can not remember where the safe place is
now . . . . . .DAMN. This is not the first time I have not been able to find
something in a safe place and so I have come to the conclusion that the least
safe place to put something is the safe place, unless it is say for example a
very large box with a narrow pointing at it saying safe place. And my advice is
not to have lots of safe places either but just the one that has space for
everything that you might wish to keep safe.
So I am abandoning the
search for things in safe places now and hoping that maybe I might find it
tomorrow. In fact I think that is it again for the day. These sorts of things
tend to happen in the Winter months I run out of steam a bit quicker than I
would in the summer. I have just checked what was happening this very day last
year and as it happens President Putin was dancing on top of the Ritz hotel in
a re-enactment of an old Fred Astaire movie as he started his presidential campaign.
I spent the day making an L shape rather than this year, drilling a hole and we
had a curry for dinner, and this year we did not. And a year ago tomorrow we
had the very first snow of winter….
It just goes to show how useful
a daily diary can be….

I lost my guitar tuner the other day. well, actually i lost it ages ago but didn't realise because i didn't need it and then figured out it was lost when i couldn't find it.
ReplyDeletethis also happened with the dog who got out when i wasn't looking. I went looking up and down the site and onto the bridle path and everywhere (excpet where he was). he turned up with a big stoopid grin on his face which was hidden under a load of mud... he wasnt laughing when i put him in the bath though. hahaha.
I bet Mr Stephen Fry doesn't have to worry about this.
Mr Fry has a man who cleans his dog and a man who looks for his dog. They are very different skills indeed which is why Mr Fry requires the two men, well I think it is although I'm not sure that he has bought a dog yet. Maybe men need time to get used to where things are, which is why men loose things more than women do.
DeleteI also lost my guitar tuner when we moved house but I found it attached to a guitar, I sort of have 8 or 9 of them although mainly cheap and cheery with a bit of bling.
I neVer lose my violin mainly because I always keep it in the same place close to my bed and I rarely play it. So it could have been stolen a long time ago and aLL I reaLLy have is a violin case. So its kind of a Schrodinger's Cat's Violin, [ Is It Really There? ]

If you only have one safe place and you need to store a sack of grain, a goose, and a wolf, then you might come back to find only one or two of your three things. It just depends on how smart the wolf is. If the wolf is smart he wiLL help the goose open the sack of grain, so that the goose wiLL get to eat the grain, and be a little plumper before eating the goose. WeLL, I guess you would stiLL have the sack the grain came in, so you would stiLL have two objects.
ReplyDelete"Remember, here at Window World we not only stand behind our windows, we stand ON them" - that is an eXample of some of the nonsense I have to listen to during teleBision commercials. I am going to the diner soon. My friend who owns the place got out of prison yesterday, but I have not seen her yet. I hope your weather gets better soon.
I hope your friend is OK and that dinner went well, will this mean that there will be a party at you favourite diner at some point where you can indulge in chicken and bacon sandwiches.
DeleteI cant stand on my windows but I do have several pieces of toughened glass designed to be stood on, I just don't know what to do with them as I don't really like standing on glass,
I had this wonderful vision of Putin dancing atop a giant Ritz cracker, until I re-read that sentence. Really should find my glasses.
ReplyDeleteProf. Solomon in his book 'How to find lost objects,' states that when you lose something, the first thing to do is NOT to look for it.

Some people do say that President Putin is crackers, although I don't think they say it near him, one would be totally crackers to do that. I have always been lead to believe he does not have the greatest sense of humour in the world.
DeleteI am about to embark on my search again so I hope that Prof Solomon is wrong, if I don't find what I am looking for I will be back to look at that link. If I do find it I will be back to look at that link but will go . . . .
HAH HAH HAHH HAH HAH HHAH HAHHAhah ah ahh ha haha hah hah ha hahh hahah ahahahahah . . . . a lot
