I'm still doing stuff. . . . But not here

OK I am a terrible blogger these days, but it does not mean I am not quietly working away in the background. One little project has been creating a bit of artwork for a friend who has written a book. It all sort of got delayed somewhat due to life the universe and stuff. This is one of the pictures for that book.

Due to all the delays I then thought  . . . . . . Hang on I reckon I could write a book, it must be easier than drawing pictures for a book, and so as I type I am about half way through it at about 60,000 words. It would help if I could type a little better than I can and also if I knew in a little more detail how it will end. All I know for certain is that Brian, Brenda and their Parrot will be OK and Inspector Clarke will end with a new fancy office and the possibility of a sequel.

Right folk it is time for me to go it is late here in the UK and I was up early this morning delivering things to my daughter.

  1. Good to see a post from you! Congrats on working on the book - I never know the ending (often I don't know the killer) when I start writing a new book. I just know all will be okay. Double congrats on doing the artwork for a friend's book!

    1. Thank you . . . Yes the book idea was the consequence of delays in my friends book. Neither of us have ventured into the world of publishing before and I must admit that creating the images for my friends book was an odd thing to do, normally I draw what I like, but when you find you have to draw a cat covered in candy floss or fighting a large bear it changed the way I worked. So I decided that maybe I should also write one where I can decide what happens when and where and to whom so that is what I doing. I also have discovered that the story is developing and has sort of created a life of its own, so as things stand I am not entirely sure how it will end. I do know though that at least one chap is not going to be happy if he makes it to the end alive.

  2. I figure that I am a semi-terrible blogger. I have been busy on a math project involving the game Sudoku, and I recently published my first blog post about my research. I am getting close to publishing a second post soon.
Congratulations on getting to create a piece of art for a friend's book, and for writing a book yourself. I am not sure if I have a long book inside my mind, I think I prefer to write short stories and very short story that have to be funny.

    1. Barbara and I do a Sudoku puzzle every day, I am left handed and she is right handed so as we have breakfast or our evening meal a sudoku book can sit between us and we do one together. Over the last few years we have done a lot of them. These days we also do a word search afterwards as we are slowish eaters and word search books are easily available in the local shops.

I suspect you have a long book inside yourself Mr ESB. I was not entirely sure but I have found that as I write so the tale develops and creates its own world allowing it to keep developing. I just need to work on a really interesting and logical end that will make folk think as they read the last few pages . . . . . . .Well I was not expecting that.

    2. Yes, the life of writing is an interesting one. My favorite is humor, especially when I write something and the recipient of my joke/thought/poem realizes that I just wrote something in response to our conversation or the events immediately around us. I am amused when FaceBook reminds me of a dream that I had many years ago.

Huh, I don't recall if I knew that you were left handed. I practice writing left handed every once in a while, working slowly so that it is pretty. About 15 years ago when I lived in my old house, my older son picked up my grocery list, on paper, from the washing machine, looked at it a moment and asked me, "Did you write this with your left hand?"

    3. Well Mr ESB as you can tell I am not here much at present, but such is the world. I have actually completed my own book, but Barbara is slowly proof reading it for me. She is extremely good at this. Meanwhile I have started two more books, one a sequel and the other a tale about an Alien Hunter in a small village. I am not in any mad rush so it will all be done when its done.

I started the tale about the Alien Hunter after see strange lights in the wood next to us for several days. I then thought to myself there is a good starting point for a lighthearted look at village life

    1. Sorry for the delay in responding the real world is full of things happening generally so it can take me time to get back to folk. I will not be doing the A to Z this year as I have other projects on the go. The book is going well, finished in fact and being proof read, it will end up as an eBook probably at some point . . . . all part of the master plan
