The Garage, the cat and being poorly

Today has proved to be very different to yesterday. The weather man said yesterday that we could expect rain where we were at two o’clock, and at five minutes to two it started to rain. And it has also been about 20˚ C colder today than yesterday.

I have been rearranging the garage and so it looks remarkably tidy at present but you still can’t get a car in it, something that is fairly typical for Britain. It is strange just how common it is to have a garage and the last thing that anyone puts in it is a car on the grounds that it is an entire waste of space, even when you have loads of space both outside and inside the garage; unless  you have seriously posh car that you get all paranoid about, worrying it might get wet. The big garage clean up is in preparation for the possible arrival at some point of a load of stuff.

Thinking outside the Blog's

Now yesterday was ticking along OK right up to evening when I started to feel a bit on the cold side, colder that I should have considering it had been such a lovely day. Then I started to get colder so I spend half of last night physically shivering in bed, so cold it was impossible to sleep properly; then about four in the morning I warmed up and got so hot that it was very difficult to get to sleep and I ended up with a headache. So today has been a long day because I have been very tired, I have just had a siesta for a bit to get my wits together. Interestingly I have not been the only one not feeling well, as Sooty the Cat has slept most of the day and hardly eaten and looks like he may have been beaten up by geese or Zombies although Zombies would have eaten his brain and he would now be wandering about like a Zombie which just at present he is. . . . . . .AH.

Last night in my state of frozen delirium I did manage to finish a new members badge for my rather elitist blogging group RATs, the Radical Abstract Thinkers, there is nothing quite like a new posh hand drawn members badge to rekindle interest or justify the huge membership fee.

OK I am off now as I am still not 100 percent and need to be on full alert in case I am attacked by a zombie cat.

  1. It would be quite amusing, for me at least, if the stuff you were rearranging in your garage, was to make way for an actual car.

We had the opposite here, weather wise. It was a lovely sunshiny day and I moaned constantly throughout. That's because I have a slight allergic reaction to the sun, (Polymorphic light eruption)which leaves me feeling very uncomfortable and itchy.

LOVE LOVE LOVE, (can you tell I love it?) the new RATS badge and shall be posting it on my blog forthwith.

Quite a lot of people have been feeling ill these last couple of days. I'm not sure if it's to do with the ever changing temperatures, or if it's because all the viruses that should have gone away by now, are still hanging around like tourists waiting for a sun lounger. Whatever the reason, I hope you feel much better soon Rob Z. :)

    1. I am much better except for the back, as I think I may have slightly over done shifting stuff. Glad you like the badge it sort of went wrong a couple of times but by just over drawing with the trusty ball point is sort of worked in the end.

I met a few people who were ill over the weekend so maybe the shock of hot days has been too much for British bodies.

  2. Hope you have a better night, and look after the cat. My poor cat had diabetes and I had to inject her twice daily. sadly she passed away two years after my husband.
    Take care.
    Yvonne.

    1. I am feeling much better and so is the cat, he is still very young and found us as a starving stray kitten of only a couple of months old. And them promptly cost a fortune to get back to good health, plus he has a habit of using his lives up.

  3. We don't use our garage for the car either. ActuaLLy my truck is too taLL to fit in the garage. It is a Ford F-350 four wheel drive, slightly elevated. I think the word garage is wrong. By leaving the car outside in the elements it makes it age faster, so instead of garage, it should be caLLed a carage.

    1. I was hoping to take my mother to the diner today on her return trip, but she was too busy and needed to get on down the road to visit other people in Texas before it got dark. So she said "next time", but of course we aLL know how that can never materialize so I was slightly saddened as I had already told the diner folks she was coming by today. I also wasn't able to bake a certain treat because my house is way too warm with record temperatures going on, I wiLL have to wait for a rainy day to bake pumpkin bread.

    2. That is quite a big beast you drive Mr ESB, but I think as you live in Texas most people drive big beasts.

Sorry your mother did not make it to the dinner, she was probably not aware of your fondness for it and the friends you have there. Don't give up hope though one day you might manage to trick her into visiting ,saying it is a museum of human resources.

      I think we have that rainy day you were waiting for . . . . . . . . DAMN.

  4. Hope you feel better soon! The weather was really nice here yesterday, but I spent it sleeping on the sofa instead of actually enjoying it. Oh well!

    1. Thanks Miss Laura and I suspect you have been busy and needed that sleep, I'm sure we will get at least one more sunny day this year (with luck . . . . . maybe).
