Evidence of Black Holes from the principles of defused parallel light

Today’s weather was sort of average for the time of year today not windy not sunny not wet not warm and not cold, so not really a lot more to say on the subject then . . . . . . I can hear many a person going PHEW again. But while I was out looking at the weather I spotted a blocked hole (sorry a black hole, the blocked hole was ignored today). Now I know it’s Sunday and most of you do not wish to hear about the weather or science but guess what I need to discuss a bit of science now.

As we know black holes are incredibly dense so dense that their gravitational pull will suck in light. So in reality you can’t see a black hole. It gets even more confusing because at a certain distance away from a black hole the light passing it will be bent round the black hole like a magnifying glass and the light from any object behind the black hole will be focused to a point at a certain distance the other side of the black hole (I hope you are all still with me on this). If you are not at the exact focal point of the object but close to it you will get a slightly out of focus image of the object, and as I’m sure you are all aware of the principles of defused parallel light passing through an atmosphere you will all then be aware that the image will form a small cross. ……

So I think I am able to say with some certainty that I did see evidence of a black hole above the house earlier, luckily I was also able to take a photograph of this because I was taking a photograph of the sunset at the time.  Anyway the image moved across the sky as one would expect because the black hole and the object behind the black hole and planet Earth are all moving at different speeds, in fact I would say that was the final conclusive proof.  The dog foolishly suggested it was an aeroplane but he is a dog and dogs have a completely different idea about black holes, the dog thinks the muddy damp cold hole in the garden is a black hole . . . . . . . . . OK it is but it does not suck everything into it including light and me . . . . . . . . OK it does but it not a real black hole . . . . . . . . OK YES YES I know yes it is . . . . . . Ya Sucks Boo……

  1. My son was reading about black holes yesterday. He was also studying the Millikan Oil Drop experiment. I think I wiLL search for blog holes. If you had a cold and tried to say "black hole" it might sound like "blah, cold". I am not cold right now though, as Cooper is curled up snuggling at my feet. I may bake a German Chocolate Cake later today for Jesus and bake a loaf of bread. The dough is in the thawing stage, as I bought this dough at the store.

    1. First I miss read Millikan and thought it said milkman this would have changed everything and the value of 1.5924(17)×10−19C would have become 2 pints. and some free range eggs.

I am not religious in the conventional sense and so do not see the bible as a work of fact(I can see shaking heads and the sound of tutting from passing readers). But those who do, may get a bit of a surprise when reading that you are baking bread for Jesus out there in Texas. He is a lucky man to get German chocolate cake from your good self, maybe Cooper has worked out what you are up too and is planning to be very nice to you, as you may have a nice chocolate based treat for him later.

    2. Since Cooper is my dog he won't get any chocolate. He did get a bratwurst that Tamie didn't like which I found yummy. My loaf of bread came out perfectly this evening, but I am almost out of the homemade blackberry jeLLy that my mother sent home with me. I usuaLLy make a bowl of soup during the Super Bowl, but I am focused on too many other things today.

    3. Yes chocolate and dogs are not a good combination, glad to hear the bread was as it should be. And home-made Blackberry jelly sounds good too.

  2. Spawn and I are always talking about the principles of defused parallel light passing through the atmosphere, oh how we laugh! Wait...sorry...I think I got that confused with Last Monday's episode of Miranda. :)

    1. I must admit I am not a fan of Miranda. But then when I start babbling on about things like the principles of defused parallel light passing through the atmosphere, I think it is clear I don't think like other folk. This is why I will always be a slightly less popular blog than the blogs that are more popular than my own; blogs such as Miranda and the Zombie Hoard

  3. It couldn't have been an aerial-plane, as the dog suggests because as we all know dogs can't look up.
I've always had a problem with Black holes though. It stems back to Stephen Hawkins - I think he's a liar but can't remember why. Brian Cox on the other He is incapable of telling fibs. Its a conundrum to be sure.

    1. I think it would be much easier for Stephen Hawkins to lie than Brian Cox because of some of the company that his brother Jim Hawkins hangs about with in the Admiral Benbow Inn. It is just a small white lie to get from the Black Spot to a Black Hole if you know a bit of maths.
