Boris in a wardrobe and the Olympics. And the fragility of life

Me and the dog spent the day attempting to perpetrate a particularly impenetrable part of the garden using a steam powered mechanical machete and a flame thrower. It was all part of our recording nature project for the school who are interested in finding rare and fragile species of plants, insects and animals. We spent a fair bit of time battling through the undergrowth but sadly found no life of any sort. The dog thought he glimpsed something of interest, but by then he was a bit trigger happy on the flame thrower, we were both convinced we heard a little voice go YICKS but I think the dog char grilled it to well done.

But it was a good morning and loads of fun so no harm done (sort of… ok a bit)

The big orange room is starting to take shape, when I say take shape I mean we have almost finished all the painting; it is still the same shape as it was when we started just more orange.

I then had a very unsuccessful bonfire this afternoon, that is not like me I can usually burn stuff really well and it was a sunny dry day too so not sure why that happened. It is like being a dead certain medal winner at the Olympics and then coming last in the qualifying section… That happens to me all the time in the school sports but then that is to do with betting scams that I am best not to mention ………AH DAMN.

Anyway I was planning to redeem the situation by adding some wood from an old wardrobe (very old, no not antique just rubbish) but Boris the Spider has set up home in it and was in a bit of a strop when I ripped the door off. I have told Boris that I will leave him be for tonight, but he can’t go round setting up home just any place me fancies, although he was being very grumpy. With luck now he has no front door he will go and find a more practical place to live. Still it may explain the lack of life in our hunt this morning, Boris the Spider has eaten it all.

Ooooooo yes sorry the Olympics, I think we got sailing medals today or was that yesterday I cant remember………. COME ON TIM. People keep saying legacy now rather than I SEE A LEG ……………. HAH HAHHAh hah ah hahh ah hah hahah hah hah hhahh hahha

  1. That picture is horrible! I can't stand spiders, I'm terrified of them (irrational, I know).
You'll have to go somewhere that Boris hasn't been for your nature things :)

  2. If Boris needs a holiday while all this decorating is going on he is more than welcome at my site. I can offer free range flies and loads of corners he spin a web. none members welcome but will need a deposit before he arrives.
I've got some wood at the back of the garage he can settle into if he wants some shade.

    1. I suspect you already have your own resident Boris hiding in the shadows already Mr H. And spiders are not known for being sociable, although the thought of all the free range flies is tempting (for him, not me, I don't really eat them).

      Boris says

      Fang you very much

HAHA ha ha ha ha ha hahah ah hah ha hah ah ha hah aha ha hhH HAH HAH HAH AH HHAH hah haahh haha hahah ahhaha ha

  3. I just realized that the big orange room may be the same shape, depending on how it was painted, but it is now smaLLer. The layer of paint on the waLLs decreased the volume of the room. Also, depending on which waLLs were painted and whether or not the floor and ceiling were painted, the actual shape of the room probably is no longer the same. For eXample: If a room is perfectly shaped cube, then painting aLL the waLLs but not the floor and ceiling would cause it to lose its cube-ish-ness by a distance of two layers of paint in the X and Y axis versus the Z. This would aLLow you to caLL the Big Orange Room by a new name of The SmaLLer Orange Room.

    1. I am awake at 1:50 AM and I am doing my best to entertain the local natives (wife and dog) with hand puppets. And not just any hand puppets, but syncronized hand puppets without costumes, and no strings. I think I need coffee, decaf. I tried playing a modified version of hide-n-seek, but the wife walked right by me. I threw the cushion (smaLL) at her, and laughed. Cooper is now barking at something after I gave him a treat. He thinks he is protecting me (us) from something. Then he came in the bedroom whining. Its sort of a whine-whine situation. Yes, I agree, I should make coffee, now.

    2. I will think of the orange room now as a Smaller Orange room. Luckily I did not paint the ceiling so it is the same height as it was before.....PHEW

The whine-whine situation happened to us this morning when both cats attempted syncronized demanding breakfast by sitting on our heads in the bed. They have now had four breakfasts just in time to start lunch.

Talking of which I must go as we are out to a garden party in the rain for lunch, luckily it is fish pie. fish like the rain.

    3. Rain and fish, that does sound like an interesting problem of food escape. Speaking of food, the leaves of your pineapple plant have significantly improved, I wiLL get some photos taken later today.
